Scuttlebutt September 27, 2020

While watching the game just now I was populating a POPS/Artist Reception Google contacts list.  Now have 259 in the list.  Many of these are my high school mates which are also Steve Limon’s. I also have on the list the elder act folks.   We all need to do this.  To make our POPS and the Artist Reception as successful as possible we need to get the word out.
The first letter to all Rotarians who are available to me on ClubRunner  and former RCOMH members has been sent.  You will be receiving another letter with all the information about the Reception and the POPS that you can send to all appropriate people in your contact list.  This includes all your Rotarian friends in different areas. People can order copies of the artwork (at two different qualities), artwork notecards, raffle tickets, and donate to our good works. We are still trying to get our website and Facebook pages up to date.  All technical help is appreciated.

From Linda Doliber:
Foundation Committee meeting this Monday at 4:30
Every one of our dedicated members has at least one thing that draws them to Rotary and to this club in particular. During this pandemic, and afterward, what can our club offer as a reason or reasons for anyone who wants to join/participate in RCOMH? Please take a moment to email Linda D. (ldoliber@hotmail.com) or John (jgandjawilliams4647@comcast.net) and share your thoughts."
Was chatting with Lisa Hooper and the Thanksgiving Turkey Dinner that the Masons put on each year at their Hall a couple of weeks before Thanksgiving came up. She is talking to Louise about it and it appears that there might be a Grab n Go component this year. However, since all seniors don't drive, there's a possibility we could help with deliveries.  A good option for the service committee?

I mentioned a while ago that Jody Martin is undergoing chemo then radiation after surgery for lung cancer.  Jessica is organizing a “help” team.
From Jessica:  We are assembling a “Tuesday Dinner Doorstep Delivery Team” to provide a vegetarian dinner (entree, side or soup, and dessert) each Tuesday night through December 29 for Lenny Cameron and Jody Martin. We’re all set through November 10, so just need November 17, December 1, December 8, December 15, December 22 and December 29.
(Note: For November 24, we’re looking for a few volunteers to provide one Thanksgiving-style side dish only.)
Dinners should be delivered to 121 Green Street in Marblehead at about 4:30 p.m. and placed in the blue Coleman cooler marked “Rotary.”
If you would like to participate in this club service project, please email Jessica Barnett at jdharbar@comcast.net with the Tuesday date you would prefer. You should then receive a confirming email fairly promptly.
Please remember that these must be vegetarian dinners. Eggs and Dairy are also both okay.
