We contributed money to the Dhulikhel Rotary for them to share with villagers near Dhulikhel so that the villagers could buy rice sacks. Buying food is challenging due to the lack of employment during Covid times.  Here is a picture of women taking the sacks from the warehouse to carry back to the village.  As with most things these rice sacks, which are 66 pounds each, are transported on foot and carried on their backs secured by a strap on their forehead. This is why physical therapy is needed for the common neck and back pain complaints.

Thanks to all who helped.

We are pleased to have Lisa Hooper and members of the COA at our Tuesday morning meeting.  They have been very active in helping our elderly town folk during these challenging Covid times.
From Lisa: For the past 24 years, Lisa has been the Director of various “senior” organizations which include two private pay home care agencies, a Geriatric Care Mgt dept of Beverly Hospital, and two Adult Day Health programs.  Since January 2015, Lisa has been the Director of the Marblehead Council on Aging.

Our committees are gearing up.  Nominating, Speakers, and Service are meeting and moving forward.  We look forward to hearing from each of these groups at our club assembly meeting next week.

We are not receiving our usual income from fines and happy dollars.  And I am sure we all have things to be happy about.  Maybe some of us have had a birthday, purchased a new face mask, or some may have gone to the grocery store, or found a new place to walk in town, or maybe even gone out to an outdoor dinner. So the board will be discussing how to ensure that our happiness is documented in $.
