HAVE YOU PAID YOUR THIRD QUARTER DUES?
Operating funds for the club need a lift! Also, if
you owe back dues, please watch your mail for
a reminder. Help your club meet
its financial commitments
in a timely manner.

 THIS TUESDAY - -
BRIEF CLUB ASSEMBLY AND SERVICE PROJECT

Lafayette Rehabilitation and Nursing facility
has 47 clients receiving care.
Some are recovering from falls.
Some are waiting to go home after being hospitalized.
 Some are lonely.
All will most likely appreciate
a little recognition of
Valentine's Day.
We will be writing cards and
assembling small floral and heart
mementos for them.
Come and have fun and conversation
while we're working.

On July 1, we can apply for
a $6,000 grant for the
Farrell Court Benches and Shade Trees Project
to promote good mental health among the residents.
Once the project is completed,
$3,000 would be refunded to the club.

Judith and Francie will keep us informed on
the progress of the grant,
ways our members can be actively involved,
and any partners who
also may want to contribute funds.
This year's Rotary theme,
Create Hope in the World
stresses the importance of conversation
and making friends...of not being alone...
to maintaining good mental health.
This project fits that theme perfectly.

IT'S NOT TOO LATE TO REGISTER FOR
ROTARY LEADERSHIP INSTITUTE, VIRTUAL

Registration for RLI sessions closes 10 days before the event.
If you want to learn more about Rotary
and the many opportunities Rotary provides for service,
please do consider RLI. The information shared
among Rotarians from various clubs and districts
is energizing!

Two evenings, February 27 and 29
Designed for all Rotarians - who, by virtue of their Rotary membership, are already leaders in their communities -
and for leaders who may want to
assume board positions in the future.
Led by experienced facilitators, the format is non-lecture and is discussion-based on subjects that all Rotarians need to understand about how Rotary works and what opportunities are out there for service.
Cost = $25. Registration info is on the District 7930 website. The club will 100% reimburse any member who takes Part I of the three-part curriculum and 50% of any member who takes Parts II, III, or Graduate. See Linda if you want to attend.

Bringing a guest to Rotary...Easy-Peasey!

Do you have a friend who would like to enjoy
breakfast with you and hear an interesting speaker?
Or, when you mention you are a Rotarian, has
someone asked you, "What is Rotary all about?"
Inviting someone to Rotary is easy...
Simply let Linda or Jessica know when
you will be bringing someone and
be willing to foot the breakfast charge
for that person.

THE LEE AND BARRY WEED SERVICE SCHOLARSHIP

There is still an opportunity for accepting additional donations to increase the amount already allocated to the scholarship. Please see Linda or Jessica for specifics if you are considering making a donation.

ENDING POLIO
Still looking for a creative activity that could morph into a fundraiser for the Foundation's Polio Plus effort. Speak to a Board member with your idea(s).

The Ipswich Club is doing a clever
"P is for Polio...Plunge, Paddle or Pedal"
fundraiser. Read about it in the District
EBulletin newsletter.

Surely, we can put our creative minds together
to raise funds for this District Effort in January and February.
Put your thinking caps on, please!

Is there something that you would like covered in the weekly Scuttlebutt? Please let Linda or Jessica know (ldoliber@hotmail.com or jdharbar@comcast.net)
