TWO OPPORTUNITIES FOR CLUB SERVICE:
LOOKING FOR A VOLUNTEER OR SEVERAL VOLUNTEERS
#1: Asst. Treasurer Tim Shotmeyer is on a 3-month leave of absence. At the
end of November, we hope to welcome him back, refreshed
and in improved health.
Needed: A volunteer for 3 months
or 3 volunteers for one month each
to sit at the Welcome Table with Don
and receive dues and breakfast payments.
(There will be on-the-job training. It's important but not difficult:)
Please see Linda or Jessica with your availability asap.
#2 Needed: 3-4 volunteers for exploring service opportunities
to benefit armed services personnel.
The hope is that RCOMH can ultimately partner with ElderAct and Interact
to increase the effectiveness of whatever service project is chosen.
The committee will determine the scope of the service project and bring
their recommendations to the Board and, ultimately, to the members.
Some sample questions for the committee to consider might be:
"Do we adopt a currently serving service person?" or
"Do we contemplate a project that will benefit currently serving troops and/or
do we support local veterans in the Chelsea and Holyoke veterans' homes?"
Or any other possibilities that the committee considers and researches.
Volunteers: Please contact Linda or Jessica by next Tuesday.
