May 14th Meeting - CANCELED
Due to the low turnout of the last meeting we had on a Monday...Rob sent out an email asking for a tally of members who wouldn't be able to attend on Monday, May 14th. Based on that feedback from the Club, the meeting has been CANCELED for Monday, May 14th.
Stamp Out Hunger - Saturday
The "Stamp Out Hunger" Postal food drive is this Saturday, May 12th. A volunteer sign-up sheet went around at the last 2 meetings and will be going around again tomorrow. For those of you who are new to Rotary, the food drive is an annual service project for our Club. On May 12th, volunteers will sort the food for the food pantry as the postal workers drop off bags of donated food. There are 3 shifts, so please sign up...we need all hands on deck for this service project!
Ruth's Way
The date for the spring project at Ruth's Way in Lynn is TBD. Lenny and Rob went out to check out what the project will entail and will update the Club soon!
International Mission for Rotoplast
Rotoplast, a Rotary mission in which surgeons perform free cleft palate repairs on children, will be sending a volunteer team to Cebu, the Phillipines, September 28 for a ten-day stay. Children with untreated cleft palate in the Phillipines basically are left without social, educational, and career opportunities. If anyone would like an international mission experience, the Rotoplast team is looking for a quartermaster (coordinates supplies), a ward coordinator (keeps records and schedules surgeries), and a sterilizer (responsible for keeping equipment and tools germ free). No medical experience is necessary, just a big heart and a desire to make a difference. Anyone interested? See Linda Doliber. She will give you the right person to contact.
