Scuttlebutt October 31, 2021
Happy Halloween to those of you who dress up for the holiday or who stock up on goodies for the rest of the season until Valentines Day.
I hope you have recovered from the storm. What a blow we had.  I am still using my chainsaw to cut trees and branches.
This week we have another wonderful speaker thanks to our speakers committee:  Dan Bauer the MHS principal.  He has been very supportive of our interaction with the MHS Interact club.
One of our fall-winter service projects is moving along nicely.  We will be supplying ice melt or grit-sand through the COA to elderly and anyone at risk for falling on icy stairs or sidewalks.  We will need volunteers to help distribute.
Another service project has been suggested: a winter coat drive.  I am communicating with our colleagues in Lynn regarding their need.  Please let Linda D or me know others who may need winter clothing.

The Holiday POPS Auction preparation is well underway.  We have completed more of the technical requirements.  Soon the site will be ready to preview.
Membership:  At our recent Club Assembly we had good discussions about how we might grow our club. Keep letting your friends and colleagues know what a wonderful group we are and how many interesting speakers and opportunities to do good in the world we have.  Of concern: When speaking with a local person who is well aware she said she did not have a business so she could not join.  That mentality is still there which we need to change.
Nominations will close soon for club leadership.  If you wish to have more of a voice in how the club moves forward please let Lee Weed or me know.
