FOOD...GLORIOUS FOOD!
OH, FOOD, WONDERFUL FOOD, MARVELLOUS FOOD,
GLORIOUS FOOD
...MAGICAL FOOD, WONDERFUL FOOD, MARVELOUS FOOD,
FABULOUS FOOD, BEAUTIFUL FOOD, GLORIOUS FOOD
 - Oliver!

Our club has a solid history of contributing to alleviate hunger...

• Thank you to the Judith Black and to the Lifebridge Chefs!

-Linda’s perfectly peeled and cut 4 pounds of organic carrots. Quietly working away…..
-Amy, single handed, made a salad for 75, and added a revolutionary ingredient - fruit.
-Bella, Amy’s niece and a culinary school graduate, was an absolute blessing.
She could do anything from chop veggies,
to mix the perfect salad dressing,
and for all her skills, did not mind taking direction.
-Mike chopped enough garlic to keep a coven of vampires from the door, and
-Trisha used the extra to make hot garlic bread that put smiles on all the guests’ faces.

• May we make an extra effort to support the Marblehead Food Pantry at this time?

As this newsletter is being written, the SNAP fund situation has not yet been resolved.

In Massachusetts
1.1 million people rely on SNAP.
Of these 32% are children.

In Marblehead
The Marblehead Food Pantry is already seeing increased numbers of clients
with even more new clients registering.
The Marblehead Food Pantry is not government funded and
relies on donations to keep the shelves stocked.

Some of the foods needed now at the Marblehead Food Pantry..
Our own Patricia Sullivan went to the Marblehead Food Pantry last week
and she reports these are some of the food items that are needed:
pasta sauce
cereal
mac and cheese
rice
brownie mix
cake mixes
salt
pepper
mustard
mayo
cooking oil
oatmeal
cracker
 jello
pudding
canned fruits

Practical Reminders
Tricia also shared this list
that has been published extensively across social media:

1. Everyone donates Kraft Mac and Cheese in the box.
They can rarely use it because it needs milk and butter
which is hard to get from regular food banks.

2. Boxed milk is a treasure,
as kids need it for cereal which they also get a lot of.

3. Everyone donates pasta sauce and spaghetti noodles.

4. They cannot eat all the awesome canned veggies and soup
unless you put a can opener in to or buy pop tops.

5. Oil is a luxury but needed for Rice a-Roni which they also get a lot of.

6. Spices or salt and pepper would be a real gift.

7. Tea bags and coffee make them feel like you care.

8. Sugar and flour are treats.

9. Fresh produce.

10. Seeds are cool in Spring and Summer
because growing can be easy for some.

11. They rarely get fresh meat.

12. Tuna and crackers make a good lunch.

13. Hamburger Helper goes nowhere without ground beef.

14. They get lots of peanut butter and jelly
but usually not sandwich bread.

15. Butter or margarine is nice, too.

16. Eggs are a real commodity.

17. Cake mix and frosting make it possible to make a child’s birthday cake.

18. Dishwashing detergent is very expensive and is always appreciated.

19. Feminine hygiene products are a luxury.

20. Everyone loves Stove Top Stuffing.
Thank you in advance for whatever you can do as you are able.
