POPS TICKETS VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR FRIDAY
Poster design by Jessica Barnett

We are looking for volunteers to sell Pops On The Move!, tickets and raffle rickets at Shubie’s, Friday, December 6 from 11:30am to 2:00pm. This is a very busy time period on Friday according to the owner and a good opportunity for us to get in front of a lot of people who could be interested in attending the event or potentially becoming a member.
Also, the club’s Facebook page has Pops! posts and event links. Please share the information on Holiday Pops on your own Facebook page by clicking the share button from the post on the Clubs Facebook page.

HAPPY DOLLARS FOR FOOD
Molly Williams (L), visiting ADG Bob Gravino and
Club President Kathleen Murphy

With an inspired Molly Williams filling in for Lenny Cameron last week, the club raised $411 happy dollars to defray the cost of 100 roasting pans for the Food Pantry. Aluminum tariffs made the pans very expensive, but members were generous and we thank them for that. Adding that amount to the $50 gift card given by Stop N Shop and the previous week’s fines and happy dollars...  the purchase is now fully funded. Thank you Jessica Barnett for leading this project.

COOKING FOR THE HOLIDAYS
… AND A LITTLE HELP TO ELDERACT
Amy Smith and her book

Elderact’s Amy Lockerbie Smith will come to our club meeting this week to introduce her cookbook “Someone’s in The Kitchen With Amy – A Cookbook For Friends And Family”. Hot off the press and priced at $15, the book is a lovely Christmas gift idea, and Amy will have copies on hand for sale. This is a fundraiser, and she is donating all proceeds to Elderact service projects.

Per Judith Black, “we are on for cooking at Lifebridge”, on New Year’s Eve. This has become a club tradition where our donations finance and our volunteers cook News Year’s Eve dinner for 80 to 100 people at the Salem facility. Judith will have more details as we get closer to December 31st.

CAN YOU HEAR ME NOW?
Audiologists Dr. Joan McCormack and Dr. Taylor Chabot gave us an overview of humanitarian audiology projects. Hearing loss is a huge public health crisis, especially in developing countries where people with untreated hearing loss are often unable to connect with family or friends and do not have education or employment opportunities. Taylor described her recent trip to Ecuador, where local Rotarians in Manta partnered with Hearing the Call. Joan gave us a quick update on the local efforts of the North Shore Hearing Foundation, including the new "circle of giving" requirement that recipients pay it forward by volunteering in their communities. For more information or to make a donation please visit the websites for the North Shore Hearing Foundation and Hearing The Call.
NEPAL THANKS YOU
Linda Doliber addresses the club on the Nepal Project Reception

Patricia Sullivan, Linda Doliber, Judith Black and Jessica Barnett gave us an update on the reception to celebrate the Nepal Physical Rehab project. The event was held recently and, despite dreadful weather, 75 people showed up hear an account of how, in the six months after the project was fully implemented, Nepal went from zero to more than 400 people treated as a result of Patricia’s efforts. She worked for six years to establish a physical therapy network at the Dhulikhel Hospital and six rural health clinics in Nepal, and train local providers, with funding from a Rotary Global Grant. The RCOMH is happy it was able to help and is proud of Patricia’s achievements.

BELLIGERANT FOUNDERS
Christina Frei at our club meeting

Last week’s guest Christina Frei, is an amateur historian, and author of the children’s book 5 Rock Starts of the American Revolution. She spoke to us about the sometimes tense relationships amongst the Founding Fathers. John Adams, George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Alexander Hamilton, Benjamin Franklin and others were partners in a great adventure but did not always get along.

Thank you, Kathleen Murphy, Joan McCormack, Heidi Whear, and Judith Black for your contributions to this edition of Scuttlebutt.
