ROTARIANS LEARNING AND ENJOYING IT
AT THE SAME TIME

The group above took Rotary Leadership Institute, Part 1, on Saturday at the Sheraton Four Points, Wakefield.
Length of Rotary membership went from just 3 months to over 30 years, and lively discussions focused on topics like recruiting new members; keeping members motivated, excited, and happy; ethics for Rotarians; Foundation 101; and creative fundraising.
Our own Seyla Nhean, Tim Shotmeyer, and Young Aycock participated; and, Don and Linda Doliber served as faculty along with District Foundation Chair/RLI Regional Vice Chair Liz Cullen. (Missing from the photo are Tim and Bob Washington, a young Rotaractor from Boston).
At the end of the day, enthusiastic comments included, "This was great! When can I sign up for Part 2?"
Harbor Rotarians who want to attend in the future can access the calendar for dates and locations at http://www.rlinea.org/

LIVING WITH ADDICTION AND RECOVERY

Given our club's special interest in addiction prevention, Marblehead Little Theater's production of "Recovery" may be of special interest as it addresses how three mothers and their daughters live with these challenges. The play was written by Marblehead's Anne Lucas. Here is the link to her interview with Fox 25. Final performances are next weekend. Running time is 90 minutes with no intermission and there is a "talk back" session after each performance. More info here. Please be reminded that Michael Elkin is trying to organize an Addiction Committee. Get in touch with Mike if you would like to help and participate.

HOW TO PLAN FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE

Our own Heidi Whear will be featured as 3 Voices takes up the discussion of how seniors and their families face many decisions as life moves on. Should I continue to live where I live now? What are my options? What conversations do I need to have and with whom? 3 Voices has invited experienced professionals to delve into that decision process over the course of three programs scheduled for:
 – Sunday, Oct. 20
 – Sunday, Nov. 3
 – Sunday, Nov. 17
All sessions held at 2 p.m. at the Masonic Hall, 62 Pleasant St., Marblehead.
