Club President Michael Cognata “pins” new President Kathleen Murphy
Kathleen's term begins on July 2nd

Kathleen Murphy was installed as club president along with the new Board of Directors. We thank Michael Cognata for his service as Club President over the last year. His dedication was exemplary and will remain a benchmark. In her speech, Kathleen said she’s committed to continuing Ed Bell’s work with ShelterBox.
“I’m not the type of person that needs to have a signature project in my name. I will continue the good work that others have started. A couple of weeks ago we distinguished Ed Bell for his work with ShelterBox and I want to continue where he left off. As a realtor I understand how important it is to have shelter and even temporary shelter to help families feel safe and stable,” she said.
At the installation dinner, we collected approximately $250 in “fines and happy dollars” which, per Kathleen’s request, will be donated to ShelterBox.
ShelterBox, an organization that has a partnership with Rotary International, provides temporary emergency shelter to victims of conflicts and natural disasters until they can build a more permanent home. Kathleen says she is also committed to developing strong committees, boosting membership, and enhancing the Club experience.
Thank you to all who joined our installation dinner where Paul Harris Award winners were also announced. Full list of awardees and full slate of club officers and directors to come soon.

DUCT TAPE REGATTA
Last minute instructions to the crew
Let the big scramble begin
(Photos by John Williams)
The RCOMH team raised $600 for clean water projects and took the Most Creative Design Award at the Duct Tape Regatta, held this weekend at Fisherman’s beach. The amount raised was well above the $400 minimum required to enter the competition. Captain Bob Erbetta built our boat and coordinated our participation in the event.
In a message to Scuttlebutt, promising more details soon, Bob says he has “no idea how we placed but we finished with our crew in high spirits and our craft in good shape ready to take on Duct Tape Regatta 2020! (A slight rudder design change is in the works.)”
“A big Bravo Zulu to our crew: John Rice (Jim's son), Molly Williams (our vivacious crew chief/cheerleader), Liam Conley (Pvt. Glovers Regiment), and Chase Conley (7th grader MCCPS).”
Thank you, Bob. Until next year.

ELDERACT CHECK DELIVERED
(Courtesy photo)
Linda Doliber, past President of the Rotary Club of Marblehead Harbor, paid a visit to the Elderact Club of Marblehead and Swampscott to deliver a contribution of $1,500 for the organization’s budget.
The extremely active Elderact Club is very close to our hearts and we are delighted to be able to help finance their good deeds.
To keep the photo caption from being longer than this blurb I moved it down here. From left to right: Chickie Curtis, Elderact Secretary; Elderact President Linda Maffeo; Linda Doliber representing RCOMH, and Martha Woodfin, Elderact Treasurer.
SCHOLARSHIP APPLICANTS WANTED
The Rotary Club of Marblehead Harbor is still seeking applicants who wish to pursue Second Chance Scholarships: trades and other non-college education or training to improve their skills and widen their employment opportunities. Deadline is mid-July. All the details and small print are here, in the link to the Marblehead Scholarship page.
Thank you Bob Erbetta, Linda Doliber, and John Williams for your contributions to Scuttlebutt.
