Rotary Club of Marblehead Harbor
April 14,2024

Thanking Judith and Vince for supplying
tasty sweet bites and delicious fruit
last Tuesday.

Appreciating Ed and Tricia for bringing sweet
bites and fruit this Tuesday!
Linda will be perking coffee, and
the carafe which Jessica purchased for the club's use
for boiling water will be ready for tea.

"Breaking bread together" in fellowship is a joyful
way to start the day. Have you volunteered yet
to bring food? It can be simple and does not
have to be expensive or home baked.

Please see the front table sign-up sheet and
help fill in the blanks. Thank you!

Rotary Club of Marblehead Harbor Endowed Scholarship Trust

Because this editor failed to sufficiently get the word out, our club members did not take part
in the RCoMH Endowed Scholarship Trust
fundraising night at The Landing this past week.

When the Scholarship Trust was organized as a separate but supportive unit from our club,
we donated a large sum to help get it off the ground. Over the years, we have continued our support of the Scholarship Trust via contributions from our fundraising efforts, and some of our club scholarships have been funded from the proceeds of the Scholarship Trust's investments.

Needless to say, the Endowed Scholarship Board was very disappointed not to see any club members at The Landing, as that board has worked to increase the Scholarship Trust portfolio and fund scholarships for graduating seniors and working adults who need an additional certificate to advance in their careers.

Hopefully, we can at least partially remedy their disappointment by jointly meeting on a Tuesday morning so that the new and newer members can learn more about the Trust, by continuing to support the Trust financially as best we can when our Allocations Committee meets this Spring, and by thanking
the Endowed Scholarship Board for their efforts to ensure the Trust's health and growth.

 TOWN WIDE DIAPER DRIVE UPDATE

DIAPERS....DIAPERS....DIAPERS....DIAPERS,,,,

The Dolibers' living room is starting to fill up with diapers!

Tell your friends, family members, other organizations to which you belong, your church or synagogue congregations...The need is great!

A couple of years ago, in conjunction with the Marblehead Rotary, we collected badly needed diapers to benefit the clients of the Lynn Family Association...We filled 3 SUV's  back to front from floor to roof!

From now until April 30, Marblehead Health Department is initiating efforts along with Danvers and Swampscott to solicit donations of diapers, wipes, and cash contributions to benefit local area residents who have infants and toddlers and can't afford those necessary items.

CAN WE DO IT AGAIN?.......... SURE WE CAN!

All sizes, but particularly for sizes 5 & 6 will be welcomed.
Donations may be dropped off at
Dolibers, 7 Westminster Rd. If you cannot drive to Westminster Rd., let Linda or Don know and arrangements will be made to pick up your donations. (Donations can also be left at the Marblehead Health Department, 7 Widger Rd., during office hours M,T,Th 8-5; W 8-6; F 8-12:30)

The diapers and wipes must be in new, unopened packages. Per the Health Department, in a nod to the environment, cloth diapers in new, unopened packages will also be accepted.

If you care to make a financial donation in lieu of diapers, please make your check out to the Rotary Club of Marblehead Harbor, give it to Don when you sign in on Tuesdays, or mail to Rotary Club of Marblehead Harbor, PO Box 941, Marblehead, MA 01945 by April 25. Please put "Diaper Donation" in the memo line. Thank you!
