Food insecurity will be the focus of our Tuesday meeting. We have generously supported our local Marblehead Food Pantry from our Holiday POPS donations. Now we are exploring the need in surrounding towns.

Three members of the Salem State administration will present information about food insecurity of their students. Joy Schmelzer, Linda and Don’s daughter, is the director of residence life. Rachel Frank is the case manager of student life. Alliane Brennan manages the general operation of the Salem Stage food pantry.

Gladys Vega is the executive director of the Chelsea collaborative, focusing on empowering Latinx immigrants. Chelsea has been hard hit by Covid and has a large unemployment problem leading to food insecurity of many residents.

Yamila Ruiz has founded a food pantry that provides food to Lynn immigrants and refugees. Her efforts are supported by many of our Marblehead residents.

Please invite family, friends and potential members to this important discussion.

Our masks have arrived. They are the regular medical masks no insignia on them.  I would like suggestions on distribution of the many masks we have.  Thoughts are to the police, fire dept, school dept, banks, merchants, and our speakers today.

February is usually Polio plunge month.  This year we all will not be swimming, today at 170 wind chill I am disappointed.  At our recent BOD meeting Kathleen suggested we give Polio vaccines certificates as gifts.  The certificates will cost $10 which will provide 3 vaccines.  Great gift for birthdays etc.  Maybe we all can buy at least one certificate!

CALLING ALL CLUB MEMBERS - RCOMH is anticipating an increase in new members. To help new members "learn the ropes," the Membership Committee and Board want to build a cadre of Mentors. A mentor will be assigned to each new member and will use a roadmap that has been developed to help the new member fully assimilate into all the marvelous possibilities of service that Rotary offers. Sponsors, of course, will also still want to be involved in the process. LOOKING FOR MENTOR VOLUNTEERS! Training will be provided. If you're interested, please email Linda Doliber (ldoliber@hotmail.com), John Williams (jgandjawilliams4647@comcast.net) or Judith Green (judith@judithgreen.net).
