Rotary Family News
Respectfully Submitted by J. Black - I met Patricia McCully over 15 years ago, when, having moved from Lynn to MHD to ensure her children's educational opportunities, she enrolled 4 of her 5 children in Bridging Lives, the mentoring program I used to run. Rotary Family embraced hers and they became our ‘It take a Village’ family that we offered support to through holiday gifts and extra curricular educational opportunities for her children. Patricia applied for, and won, our Second Chance Scholarship when she decided that life as an LPN/Home Health Aide was not the future she wanted for herself or the limited role she wanted to model for her 5 children. She started at North Shore Community College. 7 years later, during which one child was diagnosed with diabetes and another was hit by a truck at a cross walk here in town, she finished.

On Thursday, I had the honor of hooting and screaming in joy as she walked across the stage to receive her degree, cum laude. She has been accepted at  Lawrence Memorial/Regis College Nursing School  and will start in the Fall.  Her oldest, Isis, just finished her second year at Fitchburg State, and #2 Douglas has just completed his first year at North Shore Community College.  The other 3 continue in the Marblehead Schools.

Goldthwait Reservation Benefit Concert
Head over to Goldthwait Reservation for another spectacular benefit concert by Livingston Taylor! The concert is on Saturday, June 16, 2018 at 7:30 p.m. The below image has information on how to purchase tickets.

The Goldthwait Reservation depends upon volunteers to maintain and manage the property for all to enjoy. Money donated and raised are used throughout the year to protect the natural beauty and character of the area, maintain its ecological integrity, and help preserve the reservation as a fun and safe place to host gatherings, events, and educational activities.
