A brilliant idea, Tricia, yet again!

Scholarship Season is coming!
An Important Service Above Self Opportunity
from Scholarship Chair Linda Doliber
Do you believe that continued education beyond high school is necessary in today’s world? Are you blown away with the costs of a college education which can reach toward $100,000 per year at top schools? … The Harbor Rotary grants one-time scholarships (number and amount tbd soon, historically 2-3 scholarships/year); and, from our fundraising proceeds, the club contributes every year to the multi-year renewable RCoMH Endowed Scholarship.
Current Scholarship Chair Linda D. would be happy to mentor new committee members and would ultimately like turn over the Scholarship Committee chairmanship for the 2025-2026 Rotary year. Member Lenny Cameron and Linda have re-up’d for the Spring 2025 scholarship team, but more committee members are needed. What would your responsibilities be?
* Applications are all via an internet link. Between March 3 and April 30, you would be reading applications and rating them for consideration based on the published criteria.
* Before May 1, you would meet as a committee to compare notes with the other committee members in order to narrow it down to the top two or three candidates.
*You would attend an in-person interview with each of the top three candidates.
* The club committee’s recommendations would be discussed and solidified with recommendations from the board of the Endowed Scholarship, and finalists for both types of scholarships would be chosen.
* You would be invited to attend the Scholarship presentation night at the high school on June 4 and you would have the opportunity to present a certificate and letter to the one-time scholarship winners. A representative from the Endowed Scholarship board would present the multi-year scholarship.
*You would become an important link to several students’ bright future!
See or contact Linda if you have an interest in serving.
