Collecting all Pull-Tabs!
Don’t forget to bring in your aluminum can pull-tabs.  The tabs are redeemed at a recycling center and the proceeds benefit Aleppo Shriners Children’s Transportation Fund. Let’s fill up our bucket!

Request from Governor Dave:
We need your help! We have been given two tickets to attend the special World Polio event at Microsoft in Seattle on October 24th - World Polio Day. This is a very limited event and the tickets will be in high demand. We want to make this into a District 7930 fundraiser for polio and I am asking you to help our district make a difference this year.

Do you have airline miles or hotel points? You can help make this fundraiser a success by donating your excess miles and hotel points to cover airline and hotel stay in Seattle for this once in a lifetime event. We will auction off this package to raise money to help in reaching  Governor Dave's 2017-2018 Goal of $125,000.

Birthday Bags-to-Go
The club’s “birthday-bags-to-go” program for The Marblehead Food Pantry will begin in October. The program is being simplified to cake mix and frosting and a “Marblehead Money” gift certificate for $10 for each child.

October Food Donation - Cake Mix & Frosting
A special sign-up sheet will be circulated this Tuesday for specific flavors of cake mix and frosting donations so we can be sure we have enough to launch the first half of the 2017-2018 program. Cake mix and frosting will be our October food pantry donation. ElderAct will be participating with us.

Come to the Penny Bear Reunion - Celebrating 23 Years!
When: Saturday, September 23
Time: 3-5pm
Where: The Masonic Building

Our Honorary Rotarian and Longtime RCoMH Friend, Penny Wigglesworth, invites you to join the fun and share the memories at The Penny Bear Reunion before Penny and Penny Bear Headquarters move permanently to Naples, Florida.

Join us in recalling how The Penny Bears have helped our club raise $1,000 to meet our pledge to “End Polio Now,” how working with InterAct the Penny Bears reminded students who had just earned their driver’s licenses to drive safely and carefully, and how Penny Bears created loving moments and memories of caring and compassion for over 75 Friends Forever youth participants.

Light refreshments will be served. Please let Penny know if you will be able to celebrate with her — pennywigg@comcast.net.

Special Request for Sound System Set-Up Assistance
Would a club member be willing to set up the sound system for The Penny Bear Reunion? Please contact Jessica or Cyndi. Set-up day and time information should be available soon. Thank you!

Save the Date - Friends Forever!
The Friends Forever Day & Dinner will be on Tuesday, Oct 24th. This spectacular program brings 10 teens and their chaperones from Northern Ireland to the U.S. each year to build their leadership and peace-building skills. Cyndi Kilbarger will be providing more details about their visit soon. Meanwhile, please reserve the evening of Oct 24 for dinner with this wonderful group of young people.

Disposing of Polystyrene
For those of you who have been asking about alternatives for disposing of your polystyrene -- which is very toxic and not recyclable -- Judith wants you to know that the people we used to take it to had a machine that compressed it into brick, but they went belly up. She has called a number of recycling operations in the state and none of them will take it.

The best thing you can do right now is support a bill already in the state house. It was filed by Frank Smizik and Mike Barrett and you can find the text here - https://malegislature.gov/Bills/190/H3252
